Rewind The Clock ⏰ Tips to Reverse Aging!

Teaching people to “Rewind the Clock” and actually begin to reverse aging, is one of my favorite workshops to host.

Most people I’ve talked to believe that we decline with age in every which way. Most people think that we are doomed to be a mess of unbalanced hormones, unsightly wrinkles, aching bodies, pudgy tummies, and riddled with brain fog. No wonder why no one wants to get old!! That sounds absolutely miserable and nothing that anyone would want to be a part of. No wonder why the preventative aging beauty market and plastic surgeons are making a fortune!

So what is the alternative? What if we could age gracefully and reverse some of the signs of aging that we might already be experiencing? What if we could begin to improve with age; become more comfortable in our bodies; more comfortable with who we are? What if we could spend most of our time doing the things we love with people we love? What if we could live an enjoyable life to a ripe old age and simply pass away peacefully in our sleep? Isn’t that what we would all want?

Sign me up!

I’m here to tell you that all of that is possible. Phew! What a relief! A huge part of my coaching programs involve teaching people that they are powerful. Take a deep breath and say to yourself, “I am powerful. I can learn the tools necessary to live out the remainder of my life in peace and health.”

In the “Rewind the Clock” workshop, I share 10 tips to begin reversing the aging process. I thought I’d share with you two of my favorite tips here. I love these tips because they are ones you might not have thought of. Sure you probably already know the importance of healthy eating and exercise. Those are common sense and blasted all over social media, the news and are the subjects of many books and magazines- some of which you probably have in your home right now!

I want to discuss a couple of lesser known tips that are equally (if not MORE) important.

Tip #1:

Change your Mindset! Changing your mindset around aging will be greatly beneficial but changing your overall mindset to be more positive and grateful will benefit you in many ways. To start, try being grateful and appreciative of what you DO have and what your body CAN do. Focus on these positives rather than focusing on what you don’t have or what you can’t do. For example, maybe you have an injury that prevents you from running. Sometimes our natural humanness would cause us to focus on that fact and feel down and victimized, especially if this is a life-changing injury and you were previously an avid runner. Instead of focusing on what you can’t do (running), put more time and energy on focusing on what you can do. Can you walk? Can you do yoga? Appreciate your body for being able to do these things. Love your body for what it can still do for you. And guess what? You might be up and running sooner than you think! That is the power of mindset.

I work with my clients in various ways to encourage a gratitude practice as part of each and every day. Gratitude is a practice. It gets easier and more routine the more you consciously make it a part of your day. I like making gratitude a part of my mornings and evenings. It’s a great way to start the day on a positive note and to end the day by reviewing your day and finding things to be appreciative of. I love the quote, “There is always, always, always, something to be grateful for.” On some days, maybe it will only be that you brushed your teeth. On other days your list may go on and on.

Start changing your mindset to focus on the positive and being grateful for the big and small things in your life. This shift is life-changing AND age-reversing.

Tip #2:

One of my other favorite tips of the top 10 ways to reverse aging is to find your purpose in life. There is a reason that each of us was put on this earth. Have you found your purpose yet? Have you found the thing that really lights you up inside? Have you found things that you love talking about with other people? Have you found the thing that keeps you up at night with anticipatory excitement? If not, I’m here to tell you that it’s not too late! Start to notice what gives you a sense of drive, excitement and passion. And then find a way to do more of it. Being fueled with passion is age-reversing!

Some of us are fortunate to have found our purpose in our work. Maybe you are actually getting paid to do something that brings you joy. This is not the case for everyone and that is ok too! Your purpose may lie outside of your 9 to 5 job. It might be caring for your grandchildren, volunteering in a homeless shelter or quilting.

We are all unique individuals with different areas of expertise, energy and skills. Your purpose will not look exactly like anyone else’s. It’s time to discover what brings you joy and do more of it.

I work with my clients to help them discover their purpose. One way to start the process is to make a list of things that fuel you, fill you up and drive you. Do some of the things from your list each and every day. Notice how much joy you can bring into your life!

What is Sugar doing in your body?

What is sugar doing in your body? I've dealt with sugar addiction for my whole life! Those food companies are so smart! They know how to keep us addicted. In fact, they have something called the "bliss point". They know exactly how much sugar and chemicals to put into processed food to keep us going back for more.😨 Kicking the sugar habit has been a lifelong process for me. I know how good it tastes and how hard it can be to stay away. 🍫🍪🍩🍨🍦 As a Health & Life Coach, I believe in almost everything in moderation. There are some exceptions of course (as there are to almost any rule). Some of us have allergies to certain foods. Others of us have aversions or sensitivities. These are some reasons for cutting certain foods or food groups completely out of your diet. But for the most part, I believe that we should be able to enjoy what tastes good on occasion. Does this mean we should indulge on a daily basis in processed foods, alcohol and foods that we know don...

What is a Health & Life Coach? ......and why I decided to become one......

Health & Life Coaches have been around for quite some time. But if you are anything like I was, you had never considered them much or had a complete misunderstanding of what a coach actually is and does. For this reason, I wanted to give you a little more information.   To begin with, I think it is helpful to discuss what a coach is NOT. A good coach is not someone who tells you what to eat, how much to exercise or how to behave in order to be healthy and happy. How does that land for you? Is that upsetting? Like maybe you were thinking, “why can’t I just pay someone to tell me how to lose weight/have energy/feel my best/have a fulfilling career/get the most out of my relationship?” After all, that would solve all of my problems, right? Wrong!   The fact of the matter is, most of us already know what we SHOULD be doing. We have a general idea about the kinds of foods we should be eating and how much we should be exercising. We know we should be taking better care of...

My Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Journal: Day 6!

My Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Journal Day 6 I’m taking the time today to celebrate the fact that I have taken this step forward in my health. So often we don’t take time to celebrate the things we have done or are doing. We are so quick to judge ourselves for not doing enough. Not being enough. I have learned through my health coaching, how very important it is to celebrate the small things.  So, yay me! And guess what? If I can do it, you can do it too. Maybe you’re not interested in a cleanse of any sort, but chances are there is something you have in the back of your mind that you are wanting to do for yourself. Do it and then celebrate it. Don’t overthink it. You are worth the time and effort! Ok, so back to the 3:6:9…. I have almost made it to the final phase of this thing!  And I have some advice. First, don’t be too hard on yourself for not being “perfect”. (In doing the 3:6:9 AND in life, but today I will focus on this cleanse!) Yes, it is ...
