The Top 5 Challenges.....

The Top 5 Challenges people face when trying to improve their health (or any area of life!)

Since becoming a Coach, the more I talk to friends, clients and groups of people, the more I come to realize that we are all the same in many ways. We are all experiencing many of the same challenges even though they may manifest themselves in different ways.

I have noticed 5 common challenges that we all face when trying to improve our health or any area of our lives. I’ve listed them here along with the ways that I can help you overcome them.

1.     1. We are on information overload.

We have a vast amount of information literally at our fingertips these days! Ever consult “Dr. Google” when a new symptom appears? (me too!) Ever google “how to” do something and find 10,321 different ways to do it? (me too!) The crazy thing is that often the information we find is conflicting, which only gives us more and more confusion. Should I do this or that? Is that true or false? With this help me or harm me? Who needs all of that? (me either!)

As a Coach, my job is to curate information for you. Let me do the information gathering for you and then together we can find what resonates with YOU to form a plan of action to help you reach your goals.

2.     2. We start off with so much motivation but it doesn’t last quite as long as we hoped.

We think, “this time it will be different!” or “I can do this!” but then our usual habits and patterns emerge once again and we’re right back where we started from, or worse yet even further from the starting line. This frustrating phenomenon is normal! It happens to the best of us.

As your Coach, I will help you find your BIG motivating factors that will set you up for success. Together, we dig deep to find the motivation that will keep you trucking right along towards your goals.

3.     3. We start with so much motivation that we try to make too many changes at once                 and become easily overwhelmed.

As humans, when we become overwhelmed, we tend to stop dead in our tracks and become stuck with no hope of moving forward. Oftentimes we become so stuck that we often move even further backwards which only serves to bring us further into a downward spiral of negativity and frustration.

My job as your Coach is to help you stay out of overwhelm. Together, we take small steps forward which serves to build confidence and propels you towards your goals.

4.     4. We focus only on the tangibles such diet and exercise and ignore everything else that might be going on (often unconsciously) in our lives.

We’ve all heard it: “eat less, move more”. We want to believe that that mentality will lead to health and happiness but it might only lead to disappointment further on down the road.

As your Coach, I will work with you to explore your mindset, your self-compassion, how you talk to yourself and so much more. These intangibles just might be the missing puzzle pieces on your quest towards creating the health and life of your dreams!

5.     5. We often lack the support and accountability that are instrumental to our success.

Going it alone is the way many of us like to proceed (I know, that was me!). We think “I can do it by myself!” (the toddler mentality!) We often are either afraid, ashamed or too proud to ask for help. In my experience, we often don’t know we even need help or realize how beneficial it is to have it. Personally, I have invested in coaches to help me both on my personal and business journeys and never regretted it in the least.

As a Coach, my clients often tell me that the support and accountability that I provide is invaluable. We might have the greatest support group on the planet with our friends and family, but few of our loved ones will sit with us for an hour or more at a time and listen with complete compassion and non-judgment. That is where a Coach comes in. I am your biggest cheerleader, greatest support system and will hold the space for you to feel safe and not judged.

If any of these challenges sound familiar to you, you are not alone! Reach out to schedule an initial complimentary “Discover Your Path” session with me. 4 Health Paradigms to Live Your Life By

4 Health Paradigms to Live Your Life By Many potential clients reach out to me for help with nutrition. Although I am not a dietician, I have read and researched, learned and experimented, lost and gained weight, studied and….well you get the picture! I love sharing what I have learned and I have many paradigms that naturally come up in coaching sessions with my clients.    I’d love to share my “Top 4” with you now as well as a brief bit of reasoning behind them.   #1: There is no one perfect diet that exists for everyone on the planet.  We are all very different humans. And thank goodness for that! How boring would it be if we were all the same and ate the same things day in and day out? We all have different genetic makeups and were raised in and currently live in different environments. All of these things in combination not only influence our microbiome, but also our life experience. It only makes sense that one way of eating will not work for everyone. If...

What is Sugar doing in your body?

What is sugar doing in your body? I've dealt with sugar addiction for my whole life! Those food companies are so smart! They know how to keep us addicted. In fact, they have something called the "bliss point". They know exactly how much sugar and chemicals to put into processed food to keep us going back for more.😨 Kicking the sugar habit has been a lifelong process for me. I know how good it tastes and how hard it can be to stay away. 🍫🍪🍩🍨🍦 As a Health & Life Coach, I believe in almost everything in moderation. There are some exceptions of course (as there are to almost any rule). Some of us have allergies to certain foods. Others of us have aversions or sensitivities. These are some reasons for cutting certain foods or food groups completely out of your diet. But for the most part, I believe that we should be able to enjoy what tastes good on occasion. Does this mean we should indulge on a daily basis in processed foods, alcohol and foods that we know don...
