What is a Health & Life Coach? ......and why I decided to become one......

Health & Life Coaches have been around for quite some time. But if you are anything like I was, you had never considered them much or had a complete misunderstanding of what a coach actually is and does. For this reason, I wanted to give you a little more information.

To begin with, I think it is helpful to discuss what a coach is NOT. A good coach is not someone who tells you what to eat, how much to exercise or how to behave in order to be healthy and happy. How does that land for you? Is that upsetting? Like maybe you were thinking, “why can’t I just pay someone to tell me how to lose weight/have energy/feel my best/have a fulfilling career/get the most out of my relationship?” After all, that would solve all of my problems, right? Wrong!

The fact of the matter is, most of us already know what we SHOULD be doing. We have a general idea about the kinds of foods we should be eating and how much we should be exercising. We know we should be taking better care of ourselves in all areas of life and if we don’t, we can find out in 2 seconds on Google. But it’s so much more than just applying what we already know or learn. And this goes for everyone under the sun. Including me.

There is not a single person who does “what they are supposed to do” all of the time. And what does that even mean anyway? It’s an impossible dream. It’s not sustainable for a lifetime. As a recovering perfectionist, I know this for sure.

To be more specific, knowledge does not equal transformation. Just because you read on the internet how many servings of fruits and veggies to eat in a day does not mean that you will consume them. Just because your friend told you how much her personal trainer told her to exercise, does not mean that you will follow her plan and feel good about it. Just because you hear that meditating will make you a happier person, doesn’t mean that you will start a 20 minute/day practice.

Having a Health & Life Coach is just like having any other coach. A coach lifts you up when you are feeling down. A coach believes in you when you are doubtful. A coach holds you to the highest version of yourself. A coach helps you to set goals and then holds you accountable for follow through. A coach helps you get into action in a way that avoids overwhelm. A coach knows how to ask you the right questions to help you see things you may not be able to see on your own. A good coach can assist you in implementing lifestyle habit changes so that you can be more in alignment in all aspects of your life.

I truly believe that everyone on the planet could use a good coach. I have had many. I would never take my clients through something that I haven’t been through myself. I try different techniques on myself that I have learned through studying and from my own coaches. I have learned and grown through my work over the years. I’ve gotten vulnerable and I’ve seen things in a new light. I have seen improvements in my health, my work, my relationships, and my spirituality. My mind, body and spirit are more in alignment then they were before. My journey has been challenging and life changing. I believe that we are all always on this journey.

I am passionate about sharing everything that I have learned with others. I have created programs to help you set health and life goals and follow a path towards achieving them. With that being said, every person is different. I adapt my 1 on 1 coaching programs to each individual. Each person will benefit from curated information specific to his/her needs. Each of us has our own pace with which we can work to achieve success.

If you are looking for personal growth, improved health, better relationships, peace, freedom and clarity around the vision that you have for your life, hire a coach! I am here for you. I am here to hold you accountable and support you on your journey towards the health and life that you so deserve. Time will pass regardless. Now is the time to invest in YOU!

I offer a complimentary “Discover Your Path” coaching session. I can be reached at bfitandwellcoaching@gmail.com

What is Sugar doing in your body?

What is sugar doing in your body? I've dealt with sugar addiction for my whole life! Those food companies are so smart! They know how to keep us addicted. In fact, they have something called the "bliss point". They know exactly how much sugar and chemicals to put into processed food to keep us going back for more.😨 Kicking the sugar habit has been a lifelong process for me. I know how good it tastes and how hard it can be to stay away. 🍫🍪🍩🍨🍦 As a Health & Life Coach, I believe in almost everything in moderation. There are some exceptions of course (as there are to almost any rule). Some of us have allergies to certain foods. Others of us have aversions or sensitivities. These are some reasons for cutting certain foods or food groups completely out of your diet. But for the most part, I believe that we should be able to enjoy what tastes good on occasion. Does this mean we should indulge on a daily basis in processed foods, alcohol and foods that we know don...

My Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Journal: Day 6!

My Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Journal Day 6 I’m taking the time today to celebrate the fact that I have taken this step forward in my health. So often we don’t take time to celebrate the things we have done or are doing. We are so quick to judge ourselves for not doing enough. Not being enough. I have learned through my health coaching, how very important it is to celebrate the small things.  So, yay me! And guess what? If I can do it, you can do it too. Maybe you’re not interested in a cleanse of any sort, but chances are there is something you have in the back of your mind that you are wanting to do for yourself. Do it and then celebrate it. Don’t overthink it. You are worth the time and effort! Ok, so back to the 3:6:9…. I have almost made it to the final phase of this thing!  And I have some advice. First, don’t be too hard on yourself for not being “perfect”. (In doing the 3:6:9 AND in life, but today I will focus on this cleanse!) Yes, it is ...
