My Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Journal: Days 7-9 and Final Thoughts

My Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Journal: Days 7-9 & Final Thoughts

Day 7

I’ve made it to the final 3 days. Whoo hoo!

I have to admit. Last night I was OVER my second serving of salad and brussel sprouts and asparagus. But I managed to eat it and feel full afterwards. Thankfully, today the meals are a little different- perfect timing for a change.

I have to say that my family is also very over me steaming asparagus and brussel sprouts! They aren’t loving the new aromas around the house!

I’m actually very excited about the results I will notice. Anthony William says that these last few days are where the big change happens. I am ready! In fact, I have definitely noticed improvements in my mood over the past couple of days. I haven’t really noticed any other detox symptoms, although that could still happen.

This morning I prepared 2 16-oz servings of celery juice since I will be having it twice today. Yay-only cleaning the blender once! Remember, celebrate the small things!

I have a recommendation for preparing your celery juice. Although I’m accustomed to drinking it most mornings, there are some bunches of celery that taste better than others. I’ve found that the best thing to do is to take the celery out of the packaging the night before and have it ready for morning. That way it is colder when you drink it, which makes it easier to drink if you don’t enjoy the taste. Of course the other benefit is having it ready to go in the morning to save valuable morning time. I don’t know about you but having 5 extra minutes in the morning is huge. (I guess more so in “normal” times than quarantine-life).

The spinach soup over cucumber noodles wasn’t bad. I do admit that it helps that I’m used to eating a lot of veggies. I’d love to know what others think of it. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried it! I used a whole cucumber as the base for the soup. My family looked at me like I was crazy, but I’m used to that!

To maintain my motivation today, I read over the description of the final 3 days in the Liver Rescue book.

Day 8

Today I made a big mistake. Two actually. I decided to put off my morning workout until after lunch.

It was about 2 hours post-lunch when I decided to do my favorite cardio workout. About the time when I should have been eating my apple, celery and cucumber snack. About 20 minutes into my workout, I knew it wasn’t going much further. I got the terrible low blood sugar feeling that I always dread. If you’ve ever experienced it, you know how it goes. Your vision gets a little blurry around the edges and you feel weak all over.

Ok so that was mistake #1. The second error happened as a direct result of the first and is the reason I make it a point to tell all of my clients and all who do my group cleanses, to never ever let yourself get too hungry.

Guess what happened? I binged. No, it wasn’t on ice cream or chips but on apples and applesauce and felt just as miserable. Between the 2 apples that I consumed and the 2 helpings of homemade applesauce, I probably ate at least 6 apples. Let me tell you that the human body should not eat so many apples at one sitting. I must have looked 5 months pregnant when I was done and felt very uncomfortable for hours to come.

Lesson learned and shared!

Tonight I go to bed both dreading and excited about Day 9- the LAST day! Overall this cleanse has not been difficult or miserable for me. Thank goodness. Despite that fact, Day 9 was the reason for me not doing the Liver Rescue 3:6:9 as soon as I read the book. A day of liquids only? A day where I don’t get to chew? Not even an apple? Could I do it? Will I die of starvation? Will I be too weak to think straight, much less get out of bed?

All valid questions when I was considering this journey. Now that I am 8 days in, I know I can do it. I can live for an entire 24 hours without chewing food. I can and will survive and flourish on fruit and vegetable juices. Sure, I may be hungry and not fit in a workout but I will most definitely see Day 1 of the rest of my life.

Day 9

I’ve made it! My last day is here! I am pumped and ready to finish up strong!

I am following the recommended drinks today. After my morning celery juice, I juiced an entire bag of oranges. I cut up the oranges and threw them into the juicer whole. Maybe a good idea but maybe not. Both times I drank my oj today I felt a little queasy afterwards. In hindsight, I maybe should not have put so much of the peeling into my juice. Note for later!

The apple and cucumber juice is delicious. Highly recommend and something I will continue to drink after the cleanse is over. If you’re not normally a juice maker and drinker, I hope you’re learning to love it! It really is a fantastic way to get your fruits and veggies in! On the days when I don’t quite get in my 7+ servings of fruits, veggies and berries, I am sure to take my Juice Plus gummies. (reach out to me if you’d like more info). A delicious supplement to any diet!

I am heeding Anthony William’s advice today and resting as much as possible. I have already watched a movie and taken a nap. I informed my family ahead of time that I will not be eating with them today- just for one day. This will be much easier on me and kind of a nice excuse to spend some alone time!

I am excited to see how I feel in the days following the 3:6:9. Regardless of whether I feel like a million bucks or just feel like my normal self, I know in my heart (and in my liver!) that I have done something good and healing for my body.

Final Thoughts:

If you are considering doing the 3:6:9 or any cleanse, I highly recommend going through with it. Something is telling you to give it a try! Listen to that inner voice.

However, be sure that you are mentally and physically prepared before embarking upon any cleanse. Take some time to journal your reasons for doing; your motivations. Schedule some time for down-time and for preparing meals. Explain what you are doing to your loved ones and ask them for the patience and grace and support that you might need for the time period you have chosen. Make sure they understand that you are doing this for YOU. If you have kids, what an amazing message to send to them. My parent values themselves enough to carve out time and energy to better themselves. That is a gift in and of itself! And something you can be proud of. Does that mean that this process is always easy? Absolutely not. Does it mean that the effort is worthwhile? Absolutely! Make sure you have accountability and support. Whether that is working with a coach or a partner/friend/journal/group. It makes all the difference in the world. Ask yourself, what is the worst that can happen? I go through the cleanse for a few days and realize it’s not for me? Well, you had a few days of healthier eating and living! That’s what you’ll celebrate.

Keep me posted through this blog, email (bfitandwellcoaching@gmail.com), Facebook and Instagram (@bfitandwellcoaching) and let me know how you’re doing and how I can help you in your health and life journey. YOU are worth it!

What is Sugar doing in your body?

What is sugar doing in your body? I've dealt with sugar addiction for my whole life! Those food companies are so smart! They know how to keep us addicted. In fact, they have something called the "bliss point". They know exactly how much sugar and chemicals to put into processed food to keep us going back for more.😨 Kicking the sugar habit has been a lifelong process for me. I know how good it tastes and how hard it can be to stay away. 🍫🍪🍩🍨🍦 As a Health & Life Coach, I believe in almost everything in moderation. There are some exceptions of course (as there are to almost any rule). Some of us have allergies to certain foods. Others of us have aversions or sensitivities. These are some reasons for cutting certain foods or food groups completely out of your diet. But for the most part, I believe that we should be able to enjoy what tastes good on occasion. Does this mean we should indulge on a daily basis in processed foods, alcohol and foods that we know don...

What is a Health & Life Coach? ......and why I decided to become one......

Health & Life Coaches have been around for quite some time. But if you are anything like I was, you had never considered them much or had a complete misunderstanding of what a coach actually is and does. For this reason, I wanted to give you a little more information.   To begin with, I think it is helpful to discuss what a coach is NOT. A good coach is not someone who tells you what to eat, how much to exercise or how to behave in order to be healthy and happy. How does that land for you? Is that upsetting? Like maybe you were thinking, “why can’t I just pay someone to tell me how to lose weight/have energy/feel my best/have a fulfilling career/get the most out of my relationship?” After all, that would solve all of my problems, right? Wrong!   The fact of the matter is, most of us already know what we SHOULD be doing. We have a general idea about the kinds of foods we should be eating and how much we should be exercising. We know we should be taking better care of...

My Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Journal: Day 6!

My Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Journal Day 6 I’m taking the time today to celebrate the fact that I have taken this step forward in my health. So often we don’t take time to celebrate the things we have done or are doing. We are so quick to judge ourselves for not doing enough. Not being enough. I have learned through my health coaching, how very important it is to celebrate the small things.  So, yay me! And guess what? If I can do it, you can do it too. Maybe you’re not interested in a cleanse of any sort, but chances are there is something you have in the back of your mind that you are wanting to do for yourself. Do it and then celebrate it. Don’t overthink it. You are worth the time and effort! Ok, so back to the 3:6:9…. I have almost made it to the final phase of this thing!  And I have some advice. First, don’t be too hard on yourself for not being “perfect”. (In doing the 3:6:9 AND in life, but today I will focus on this cleanse!) Yes, it is ...
