My Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Journal: Day 6!

My Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Journal

Day 6

I’m taking the time today to celebrate the fact that I have taken this step forward in my health. So often we don’t take time to celebrate the things we have done or are doing. We are so quick to judge ourselves for not doing enough. Not being enough. I have learned through my health coaching, how very important it is to celebrate the small things.  So, yay me!

And guess what? If I can do it, you can do it too. Maybe you’re not interested in a cleanse of any sort, but chances are there is something you have in the back of your mind that you are wanting to do for yourself. Do it and then celebrate it. Don’t overthink it. You are worth the time and effort!

Ok, so back to the 3:6:9…. I have almost made it to the final phase of this thing!  And I have some advice.

First, don’t be too hard on yourself for not being “perfect”. (In doing the 3:6:9 AND in life, but today I will focus on this cleanse!) Yes, it is important to follow the guidelines in order to get maximum benefit but does anyone follow it to the “t”? I’ll let you in on the little cheats I have made. They’re not big ones, but I want to be honest.

Yesterday I went to the grocery store again to stock up on lettuce and celery and I let myself get a little too hungry. As I mentioned previously, hunger kind of freaks me out a little due to episodes I’ve had with low blood sugar. I made the decision to reach for some dried mangoes to snack on on my drive home. Is that a sin? No. I have a feeling Anthony William might not be too angry with me for making that choice. After all, mangoes are allowed in the Liver Rescue Smoothie AND my dried mangoes didn’t have any added preservatives. Plus, I was successfully able to stop my hunger pangs in their tracks before I could have the chance to reach for something completely forbidden!

Ok, my other non-perfect cheat is going a little too heavy on the honey in my tea. There. I’ve said it! I’ve admitted before that I love sweets and this is my one little cheat. Not perfect but I’m not going to stress about that one.

I also wanted to give anyone who is trying the 3:6:9 a bit of helpful advice. Make the salad dressing! In my normal life, I love oil & vinegar on my salads, but fats are taboo on this cleanse, so I’ve been squirting a little orange and lemon for the past few salad days. Not particularly exciting if you ask me.

I did want to mention that having the experience of tasting a salad for the true ingredients and not the salad dressing is something you should try. I found the taste of red cabbage very interesting and something I may haven’t noticed if I weren’t eating it pretty dry. Eating for sensation is an amazing way to improve your health for many reasons, and one of the lessons I teach to my clients.

But, I made the dressing today and it really added a nice flavor to today’s lunch. Yes, I had to clean the juicer twice today, but I’ll say that it was worth it! Does cleaning your juicer or blender seem overwhelming to you? It does to me. Ridiculous but overwhelming sometimes. Yet another fabulous reason that attempting any cleanse during quarantining is an excellent idea! We have the time for such cleanings.

Another thing I want to mention is that I am really looking forward to my afternoon apples these days! I’ve noticed this before when I’ve completely given up sugar: whole foods start to taste better and better. I know. You probably don’t believe me, but it’s true. No, it doesn’t happen overnight, but apples and dates (and honey) are giving me all of the sweetness I need!

Let me know in the comments if any of this is making you want to try a cleanse or making you NOT want to try a cleanse!

I’m excited to be moving on to the final 3 days! I get to eat potatoes tomorrow! I’ve never been so excited about potatoes in my entire life!

4 Health Paradigms to Live Your Life By

4 Health Paradigms to Live Your Life By Many potential clients reach out to me for help with nutrition. Although I am not a dietician, I have read and researched, learned and experimented, lost and gained weight, studied and….well you get the picture! I love sharing what I have learned and I have many paradigms that naturally come up in coaching sessions with my clients.    I’d love to share my “Top 4” with you now as well as a brief bit of reasoning behind them.   #1: There is no one perfect diet that exists for everyone on the planet.  We are all very different humans. And thank goodness for that! How boring would it be if we were all the same and ate the same things day in and day out? We all have different genetic makeups and were raised in and currently live in different environments. All of these things in combination not only influence our microbiome, but also our life experience. It only makes sense that one way of eating will not work for everyone. If...

The Top 5 Challenges.....

The Top 5 Challenges people face when trying to improve their health (or any area of life!)   Since becoming a Coach, the more I talk to friends, clients and groups of people, the more I come to realize that we are all the same in many ways. We are all experiencing many of the same challenges even though they may manifest themselves in different ways.   I have noticed 5 common challenges that we all face when trying to improve our health or any area of our lives. I’ve listed them here along with the ways that I can help you overcome them.   1.      1.  We are on information overload.  We have a vast amount of information literally at our fingertips these days! Ever consult “Dr. Google” when a new symptom appears? (me too!) Ever google “how to” do something and find 10,321 different ways to do it? (me too!) The crazy thing is that often the information we find is conflicting, which only gives us more and more confusion. Should I do this or t...

What is Sugar doing in your body?

What is sugar doing in your body? I've dealt with sugar addiction for my whole life! Those food companies are so smart! They know how to keep us addicted. In fact, they have something called the "bliss point". They know exactly how much sugar and chemicals to put into processed food to keep us going back for more.😨 Kicking the sugar habit has been a lifelong process for me. I know how good it tastes and how hard it can be to stay away. 🍫🍪🍩🍨🍦 As a Health & Life Coach, I believe in almost everything in moderation. There are some exceptions of course (as there are to almost any rule). Some of us have allergies to certain foods. Others of us have aversions or sensitivities. These are some reasons for cutting certain foods or food groups completely out of your diet. But for the most part, I believe that we should be able to enjoy what tastes good on occasion. Does this mean we should indulge on a daily basis in processed foods, alcohol and foods that we know don...
