My Liver Rescue Journal: Day 3

My Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Journal

Day 3!

My mood was “off” this morning. I attribute this to the quarantine and not the cleanse! When I tried to “sit with curiosity” about my annoyed mood, I realized that I needed to implement some self-care. That looks different for me every day. Today I knew that exercise is what I needed.

I had a conversation with a friend recently about exercise. We both enjoy it and have been exercising pretty regularly most of our adult lives. We both agreed that during this social distancing, exercise has become even more of a non-negotiable. It’s keeping us sane. We both agreed that we feel even better than we normally would after doing it. Interesting.

After some weights and cardio and a walk around the block with my dog, I was feeling much better. I enjoyed my Liver Rescue Smoothie during my workout. I love that the types of fruit can be switched up each day to keep things exciting. I highly recommend adding lime to your smoothies and juices. It gives them such a great flavor.

Thankfully, the weather is gorgeous in Texas right now and being outside in my backyard is my happy place. Well, after Disney World- but I won’t be going there any time soon. I enjoyed my 2 apples and 4 dates while sun gazing, which continued to improve my mood.

Last night for dinner I had made the Yellow Curry Noodles from the book, so I ate that and salad for lunch. It is SO delicious! I was surprised to have found the kelp noodles in a normal grocery store. Be warned- they stink upon opening! Be sure to rinse them and soak in water for 10 minutes before preparing the dish. Let me know if you like it!

My afternoon snack was homemade applesauce (again, from Liver Rescue). Another delicious recipe! I’m also sure to keep lemon water with me and I enjoy a cup of tea here and there throughout the day.

So far, the 3:6:9 is going pretty well. There was a moment yesterday when I felt a little low blood sugar (which is actually one of my reasons for doing this cleanse), but I felt better after eating more apples.

This afternoon I plan on reading some from the book to maintain my motivation to follow through with the cleanse. Having something to go to for motivation is key on any cleanse, and something I work with my clients on during my group cleanses. There will be times on any new eating plan, that you will want to revert back to your normal. It’s the way our brains are wired and not your fault. Reviewing your reasons for initially setting out on the journey is extremely beneficial to stick with any program.

After today, I will be moving onto the second phase. So far, so good!

The Top 5 Challenges.....

The Top 5 Challenges people face when trying to improve their health (or any area of life!)   Since becoming a Coach, the more I talk to friends, clients and groups of people, the more I come to realize that we are all the same in many ways. We are all experiencing many of the same challenges even though they may manifest themselves in different ways.   I have noticed 5 common challenges that we all face when trying to improve our health or any area of our lives. I’ve listed them here along with the ways that I can help you overcome them.   1.      1.  We are on information overload.  We have a vast amount of information literally at our fingertips these days! Ever consult “Dr. Google” when a new symptom appears? (me too!) Ever google “how to” do something and find 10,321 different ways to do it? (me too!) The crazy thing is that often the information we find is conflicting, which only gives us more and more confusion. Should I do this or t...

4 Health Paradigms to Live Your Life By

4 Health Paradigms to Live Your Life By Many potential clients reach out to me for help with nutrition. Although I am not a dietician, I have read and researched, learned and experimented, lost and gained weight, studied and….well you get the picture! I love sharing what I have learned and I have many paradigms that naturally come up in coaching sessions with my clients.    I’d love to share my “Top 4” with you now as well as a brief bit of reasoning behind them.   #1: There is no one perfect diet that exists for everyone on the planet.  We are all very different humans. And thank goodness for that! How boring would it be if we were all the same and ate the same things day in and day out? We all have different genetic makeups and were raised in and currently live in different environments. All of these things in combination not only influence our microbiome, but also our life experience. It only makes sense that one way of eating will not work for everyone. If...

What is Sugar doing in your body?

What is sugar doing in your body? I've dealt with sugar addiction for my whole life! Those food companies are so smart! They know how to keep us addicted. In fact, they have something called the "bliss point". They know exactly how much sugar and chemicals to put into processed food to keep us going back for more.😨 Kicking the sugar habit has been a lifelong process for me. I know how good it tastes and how hard it can be to stay away. 🍫🍪🍩🍨🍦 As a Health & Life Coach, I believe in almost everything in moderation. There are some exceptions of course (as there are to almost any rule). Some of us have allergies to certain foods. Others of us have aversions or sensitivities. These are some reasons for cutting certain foods or food groups completely out of your diet. But for the most part, I believe that we should be able to enjoy what tastes good on occasion. Does this mean we should indulge on a daily basis in processed foods, alcohol and foods that we know don...
